Grand Rapids Community College delivers your refund with BankMobile Disbursements, a technology solution, powered by BMTX, Inc. This includes financial aid refunds, bookstore returns, RaiderCard refunds, overpayments or dropped class refunds. For more information, visit the BankMobile Disbursements Refund Choices webpage.

  • If you’re not sure that GRCC has your current mailing address, please take a moment to set up bank mobile vibe account into your Online Center to update your address information today. (NOTE: Do not update your address using the General Information menu if you are a GRCC staff employee or a student worker. Student Workers should request this change from the Student Employment Office. GRCC Staff must contact Human Resources.) Your Refund Selection Kit will be mailed to your current address on file with GRCC. Therefore, it is critical that you verify your mailing address as soon as possible.

Students who receive federal and/or state financial aid will have their funds applied to their Gateway student account. Students will be able to charge certain expenses to this account including tuition, fees and bookstore charges. After classes begin and the set up bank mobile vibe account attendance is verified on the Census Date, Gateway will apply the student's financial aid award to their Gateway student account. If the student's award exceeds expenses, excess funds will be refunded based on the students refund selection. Refer to the Student Handbook for specific disbursements dates for each semester.

Refund Methods

When a refund is due to a student from any payment made on MyCalhoun, that refund will be credited back to the original method of payment (i.e. debit or credit card). If the refund is more than the original payment amount, the remaining balance will be issued through BankMobile using the reimbursement method selected by the student.

Calhoun uses BankMobile for all refunds in an effort to get the money into the hands of students quickly and easily. All students are required to register with Bank Mobile. During registration, students will select one of the following reimbursement methods:

  • Direct deposit to an existing checking or savings account, or
  • BankMobile Vibe Account

The address information used by BankMobile is sent by Calhoun. If a student's address is incorrect, the information needs to be updated through MyCalhoun. Address changes are submitted by the College to BankMobile. Calhoun no longer prints refund checks, therefore the Business Office cannot hold checks for pick up.

TWU delivers your refund with BankMobile Disbursements, a technology solution, powered by BMTX, Inc. All refunds for excess financial aid, loans, and credit balances due for dropped classes, housing deposits, or other account adjustments are sent to BankMobile Disbursements. After their first registration at TWU, new students can select their refund preference by selecting Make Refund Choice in their Pioneer Portal. ALL STUDENTS must select a refund preference to receive any university refund.

Refunds for Financial Aid

Automatic processes will begin refunding financial aid recipients after late registration ends each term and will continue throughout the term. The Financial Aid Office will begin applying accepted, eligible awards at the start of each term. Refunds will not be available until all account charges are paid on the date that financial aid is released to the student account.

Refunds for Dropping Courses or Withdrawing

Refund dates and reimbursements for dropped courses and withdrawals are established pursuant to the Texas Education Code (TEC) 54.006, Refund or Adjustment of Tuition and Mandatory Fees for Dropped courses and Student Withdrawals. Students receiving financial aid should contact the Financial Aid Office before dropping or withdrawing since a reduction of classes may affect previously applied financial aid awards and refunds. A balance may exist if semester hours are reduced by dropping or withdrawing.

BankMobile: College Brand Ambassador Program

Refunds for eligible students are automatically processed if there is a credit balance resulting from a financial aid disbursement that exceeds college expenses such as tuition, fees and books or credits resulting from having dropped a course(s) by the drop/add deadline.  

The refunds are processed weekly and are forwarded to BankMobile Disbursements or refunded directly to the debit/credit card you originally used to pay your tuition and fees (online via WebAdvisor only) or by HCC check.  

Refunds and financial aid disbursements that are processed by BankMobile Disbursements are done so according to your selected refund preference as indicated at HCC's BankMobileDisbursementssite.

If you are not eligible for an HCC BankMobile Vibe Account (e.g. no social security number on record, bad address, age restriction, etc.) or have opted out from choosing HCC BankMobile Vibe, an HCC check can be issued.  If you choose to have a check issued by HCC as opposed to set up bank mobile vibe account BankMobile Vibe, please send an email to set up bank mobile vibe account. If you elect to receive an HCC check, it will be mailed to the address on file with the college.

It is your responsibility to update your address and phone number on file with HCC as with BankMobile.  To make changes to your address and/or your phone number, click your set up bank mobile vibe account in MyHCC Self-Service then select 'Profile and Address Updates.'

It’s important that you check your account regularly.  If you have financial aid and see “pending aid” on your account, that means financial aid is pending but has not been credited to your account.  “Pending Aid” is not eligible to be refunded until it has been credited to your account.

Dear Students,

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) will be processing prorated student refunds for the spring 2020 semester as a result of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, so the Student Accounting Office would like to ensure that all students have set up their refund preference in the BankMobile system.

Your refund choices include:

Deposit to an existing bank account: Money is transferred to an existing bank account on us bank open savings account same business day as BankMobile open chase checking and savings account funds from UMB. Typically, it takes one to two business days for the receiving bank to credit the money to your account.

Deposit to a BankMobile Vibe checking account: If you open a BankMobile Vibe checking account (upon identity verification), money is deposited on the same business day as BankMobile receives funds from UMB.

If you have NOT previously selected your refund preference in BankMobile, the steps below can assist you with generating your personal code. This code will allow you to log in to BankMobile's website and select a preference.

Visit the BankMobile disbursement webpage at

  1. Click the link that says, "Need A Code?"

  2. You will be prompted to enter the school name - University of Maryland, Baltimore (once you type in "University of Maryland," it will auto-populate as the first choice).

  3. Once the school name has been entered, a new box will appear and you will be asked to enter your Student ID number that is found on SURFS (i.e., @00123456).

  4. Then you will enter your UMB email address and click "Continue."

  5. BankMobile will verify that set up bank mobile vibe account information you submitted is correct and ask if you wish to continue and receive the personal code via email.

  6. Once you receive the code via email, you can follow the steps provided by BankMobile to select your refund preference.
