Our experts in gas operations and analytics work together studying the rapid changes of the gas market every day to procure a reliable and low-cost supply for each of our customers. And, because the gas market can be very volatile, FPLES offers flexible pricing options to meet the changing market conditions.

Comparing prices can be confusing because many charges have interchangeable names or no exact industry standard. At FPLES, our natural gas consultants are available free of charge, to personally help you understand what your current or new contract includes and assist you in comparing all offers.

There are two main types of natural gas pricing structures:

Index/Floating Price High variability

  • Price varies monthly based on a standard published commodity price index.
  • A stable transportation adder is added to the commodity index.
Allows you to benefit from gas market declines and the option to lock into a fixed price when the market dips.
  • Requires budget flexibility.

Fixed Price Low variability

  •  Provides greater control of your energy budget by locking-in up to % of your forecasted usage at a set price for up to 36 months, with the remainder of your usage to float with market-based pricing.
  • Usage above your contracted amount is priced at index.

Let FPLES customize your no-cost, no-obligation natural gas price quote today.

Through our experience and deep understanding of today’s natural gas market, we help our customers implement custom strategies that keep pace with their industry’s changing demands. Our expertise includes serving organizations across all sectors such as:

Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions, we have answers. If you can’t find what you’re looking for in our FAQ section below, email us.

  • Why FPL Energy Services (FPLES)?

For more than two decades, FPLES has been one of Florida's leading supplier of reliable natural gas to businesses across the state of Florida, delivering natural gas supply to customers at competitive rates with flexible pricing options and billing accuracy over %. Our local natural gas consultants take the time to understand the unique needs of each customer, providing personal service and expert advice.

  • What is Natural Gas Industry unbundling?

Several states, including Florida, allows commercial customers to select their own natural gas provider, such as FPLES, to provide low-cost, reliable natural gas supply.

  • What’s open to competition and what’s not?

When you turn on your gas-fired appliances and equipment, you receive the gas from the local distribution company (LDC). You pay for what is called a “bundled service”, that is, you pay for the gas used and having it delivered to your business. Competition only affects the supply of natural gas – it does not affect local delivery. Through unbundling, the natural gas service you now receive from your LDC will be “unbundled”. This allows you to shop around for an alternative supplier of gas that may be able to provide you with gas cost savings and additional price options, such as fixed pricing.

  • What are the benefits of unbundling?

Unbundling in the natural gas industry means additional competition and choice. Commercial natural gas customers can purchase natural gas from either their LDC or from a non-utility supplier. Companies, such as FPLES, procure low-cost gas on behalf of their customers and transport it into Florida for local delivery.

  • Is this program complicated?

The LDCs and suppliers work hard to keep the details clear and easy to understand. FPLES natural gas consultants will help keep billing and enrollment simple and straightforward.

  • Can I save money for participating?

You could save money by participating. FPLES will perform a savings analysis for you – free of charge – to help determine your potential for savings.

  • How will I be invoiced?

If you are switching to FPLES from your LDC or non-utility supplier, you will receive two bills:

    • One from your LDC for local delivery of your gas supply, and
    • One from FPLES for natural gas supply and transport costs
  • Who should I contact if I have a service problem, smell gas or have a safety concern?

If you have problems with a meter, smell gas, or have any safety concerns, please call and then contact your LDC, regardless of who supplies your natural gas. Your LDC is responsible for delivering your natural gas safely.

  • What should I do next?

Contact FPLES to receive a free gas savings analysis, which will help you understand the necessary steps to enroll with FPLES for natural gas savings.

Income Limits

To receive SNAP benefits in Connecticut, household income and other resources have to be under certain limits and are reviewed. For some households, there is also an asset limit.

The income standards for SNAP are based the federal poverty levels (FPL). All income standards listed in the following table below are monthly figures. There are gross and net income limits.  The  gross income limit is equal to % of the current Federal Poverty Level and is the amount of income the household has before taxes and deductions. The gross income limit applies to most households. The gross income limit does not apply to households in which at least one person is 60 years of age or older, or receives disability income. However, all households are subject to a monthly  net income limit. The net income limit is equal to the current Federal Poverty Level and is the amount left over after certain deductions are allowed. These deductions are established by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service. Details can be found on their website at boxwork.us

Effective October 1, , the gross monthly income limits and net monthly income limits are as listed below.

A "household" is all the people who live together and buy and prepare food together. Once a household meets the eligibility requirements, we calculate the amount of the household’s SNAP benefit based on the household’s income and certain allowable deductions for shelter, dependent care expenses, medical costs and child support payments to others outside the household.  Shelter costs are rent and mortgage payments, heating or cooling not included in rent, and utility and monthly telephone services charges.

Children&#;s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

Through Mississippi Health Benefits there are two health insurance options that cover children, the Children&#;s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Medicaid.

The income limits are based on Modified Adjusted Gross Income or MAGI limits. The limits are referred to as MAGI because the programs using MAGI limits are based primarily on IRS rules for counting income and determining household composition.

Who is eligible for CHIP?

CHIP provides health coverage for uninsured children up to age 19 years old. To be eligible for CHIP, a child cannot be eligible for Medicaid. At the time of application, children with health insurance are not eligible for CHIP.

New CHIP contracts take effect Nov. 1,

CHIP is currently administered by two coordinated care organizations (CCOs). New CHIP contracts with Molina Healthcare and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan will take effect Nov. 1, CHIP beneficiaries currently enrolled with the outgoing CHIP CCO, Magnolia Health Plan, will receive a letter giving them the opportunity to choose between Molina Healthcare and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. All CHIP beneficiaries can select which plan they want during annual open enrollment which will be held in October through December.

Scammers pretending to be FPL billing are calling Flagler residents, sheriff warns

Florida Power and Light will never ask you to pay over the phone with gift cards, but scammers will, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office said in a release.

The Sheriff's Office has received reports about a new imposter scam in the area where residents are getting calls from someone impersonating an FPL billing associate, Sheriff's Office spokesperson Shannon Martin said.

"While on the phone, the imposter tells the victim that their bill is past due," Martin said, "and that their service will be disconnected unless they pay immediately."

The resident is then instructed to pay, not with a credit or bank debit card, but with a prepaid debit card, gift card, a third-party payment portal or by following a link in an email, Martin said.

On FPL's anti-scam page they state they will never demand immediate payment with a prepaid card or wire transfer to avoid service disconnection. They also will never call and ask for personal information such as account numbers or your Social Security number (but they may ask such questions if you call them, to verify your identity).

If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be an FPL representative asking you for payment or for your personal information, hang up and call the customer service number listed on your billing statement.

“A lot has changed in but unfortunately, the scammers are still up to their old tricks,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “If you receive a call like this or from anyone requesting immediate payments or personal information over the phone we advise you to hang up and call the business yourself. Do not be an easy target.”

If you wish to report a scam, contact your local police department or sheriff's office, the Florida Attorney General at boxwork.us, or the Federal Trade Commission at boxwork.us
