How to Pay Your T-Mobile Bill

skip to main content

We’ll walk through every method of paying your bill, step by step.

Destiny’s Child poses the question we’re all asking “Can you pay my bills? Can you pay my telephone bills?” The answer is probably no (if Beyoncé can’t find someone to pay her bills, then there’s no hope for the rest of us).

But you can pay your own T-Mobile bill. We’ll walk you through every bill pay method available.

And if you’re wondering what the T-Mobile and Sprint merger will change about paying your bill, the answer is: nothing, at least for now. Just keep paying your bill as normal until T-Mobile tells you otherwise.

T-Mobile is taking steps to keep people connected during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Light Bulb

To learn more about how T-Mobile and other carriers are responding to the pandemic, read our updated article.

Here’s a rundown of all the ways you can pay your T-Mobile bill:

Paying with the T-Mobile app

Yes, the future is here: you can pay your phone bill with your phone. There’s no need to write a check or even dial a customer service number. Just download the T-Mobile app and follow these simple steps.

Screenshot of My T-Mobile App

Steps for paying your bill through the T-Mobile app:

  1. Sign in (or create a new account if you don’t have one).
  2. Tap Pay Bill under the Billing and Payments section.
  3. Make sure the payment amount is correct.
  4. Select your payment method and input the required information.
  5. Tap Agree & Submit.

If you’re having troubles with your app, maybe it’s time to upgrade your device. Check out these amazing deals on new phones, like the iPhone SE and Samsung Galaxy S20.

Paying on T-Mobile’s website

There are actually two online portals where you can pay your T-Mobile bill. One is for those who have a T-Mobile ID and another is for those who don’t. Thanks for making things complicated, Big T! (Just kidding, it’s really not that complicated.)

Pay on the web using a T-Mobile ID

If you’ve got a T-Mobile ID (or want to sign up for one), you can check your account and make a payment using this T-Mobile website. When you go to the page you’ll see something like this:

Screenshot from Verizon’s bill pay page

Once you’ve signed into your account just follow these instructions:

  1. Click Pay Bill.
  2. Put in the amount you want to pay.
  3. Select a payment method (or input a new one).
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Review your transaction to make sure it is correct.
  6. Click Agree & Submit.

Now that wasn’t so hard, was it? (Seriously though, if it was hard then let us know in the comments section and we will try to write a better guide.)

Pay on the web without a T-Mobile ID

Does the idea of signing up for another account want to make you puke? Not to worry, T-Mobile has another webpage for “quick and easy one-time bill payment.” Here’s how you can pay as a guest.

T-Mobile guest pay page

Screenshot from Verizon’s bill pay page

Just follow these steps:

  1. Enter your T-Mobile phone number.
  2. Enter the amount you’d like to pay.
  3. Enter your payment details (credit card information).
  4. Click Agree & Submit.

Done and done. It was almost too easy

You can pay your T-Mobile phone bill by calling the company the old-fashioned way. But we don’t recommend it.

For one, it’s harder for most people to call than to just pay online. But the biggest problem with paying by calling an agent is that T-Mobile will charge you an $8 service fee! You can get a phone plan for almost the same price.

If you’re still set on paying your bill over the phone, just follow these steps:

  1. Dial *729 on your T-Mobile device or call +1-800-375-1126 from any phone.
  2. Follow the prompts to make a payment.
  3. Input your payment method.
  4. Be sure to record the confirmation number that you receive.

Yes, we know, that was the most boring $8 you’ve ever spent. Next time pay online and save that money to go see a movie.

There’s nothing quite like writing out a check, addressing an envelope, sticking a stamp on it, and sending it through the post. How quaint!

Here are the steps for sending your T-Mobile bill payment through the mail:

  1. Write a personal check for the amount you want to pay and address it to T-Mobile.
  2. Send it to:

T-Mobile

P.O. Box 742596

Cincinnati, OH 45274-2596

Be sure to allow at least five days for your check to arrive in the mail.

Paying at a T-Mobile store

Some people never want to leave the house (me). But apparently, there are these extroverted people who want to venture into the world and chat with other humans. If you’re one of these people, then find your nearest T-Mobile store and pay your bill there.

(Keep in mind that many T-Mobile stores are closed right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Call before you go to check that the store is actually open.)

Once you’re in the store, you might as well ask about upgrading your device or your plan.

Of course, the easiest way to take care of your bill is to just enroll in autopay. With auto pay you’ll never have to think about your bill again (which is exactly what T-Mobile wants).

Now that you know, here are your next steps.

Pros

  • Full Telstra 4G network
  • Competitively priced phone plans starting from $10 per recharge
  • Extra features include data rollover

Cons

  • No international roaming
  • Most prepaid plans offer bonus data but only for the first 3 recharges

Data updated daily

Boost's biggest selling point is no doubt its full access to the Telstra 4G network without the big T's prices.

The way we see it, its plans are great for all ages – whether you're 18, 40 or older – for a few reasons:

  • You get multiple price points and data values for both casual and heavy mobile Internet users
  • Free delivery across the country when you buy the Boost SIM online
  • Regular promotions to keep your eyes peeled on – the majority of these offer bonus data

Boost's positives outweigh its negatives, but you should still keep in mind that:

  • There's no international roaming available for when travel outside of Australia is back on the cards
  • Most of its bonus data offers only last for the first 3 recharges, then drops back down to its original inclusions

Value for money

These are rock solid for the budget-conscious as prices start as low as $20 for 5GB. You also have the option to go up to $70 per recharge for 85GB, which is still pretty great value.

Boost's $200 for 150GB is one of the best-priced long expiry plans on the Telstra network. You could also get $300 for 240GB, which is technically better value but it's only worth it if you're a regular streaming fiend.

  • Good to know: All of Boost's prepaid plans come out to an average of $1.44 per 1GB of data. This is a little higher than what you want to aim for, which is about $1 per GB.

Things to watch out for

  • Getting a 28-day expiry plan does mean an additional recharge or 2 throughout the year compared to a 30-day expiry plan. This saves you about 6% in total yearly costs.
  • Bonus data on Boost's plans will drop from your 4th recharge onwards. However, you are free to switch providers whenever you want as there's no lock-in contract.
  • Boost's long-expiry plans are great on paper but if you don't use too much data on a day-to-day basis, there are cheaper options to consider.

Coverage

Make unlimited international calls to 20 countries and get 300 free minutes and as many texts to 30 selected destinations (on all plans except the $20 offer). This is a good option for people with families abroad.

While we think Boost is a decent choice for a prepaid provider, but if you're still on fence, you might want to consider a couple of other strong providers:

For similarly priced plans:

If you like what you see with Boost, amaysim runs on the Optus 4G network and offers very similar plans and deals.

Another option on the Telstra network:

aldimobile logo

ALDImobile doesn't get full Telstra 4G coverage but it does still run on the Telstra network and covers 98.8% of Australians. Its plans are also cheaper than Boost.

For higher data plans:

Cellular fraud is defined as the unauthorized use, tampering or manipulation of a cellular phone or service.  Types of cellular fraud include SIM swapping, cloning and subscriber fraud.

What is SIM Swapping or a Port-Out Scam?

Your mobile phone number may be the key to your most important financial accounts.  Text messages are often used by banks, businesses and payment services to verify your identity when you request updates to your account.

Mobile phone numbers can legally be ported from one provider to another when you switch your mobile phone service, and can also be ported from one mobile phone to another when you upgrade or change devices.  But with enough of your personal information, scammers can have your number ported to a device they possess.

When scammers initiate a porting request, they con the victim’s mobile phone company into believing the request is from the authorized account holder.  If the scam is successful, the phone number will be ported to a different mobile device controlled by the scammer.

Another way to perpetrate this scam is to physically steal the victim’s SIM card, a removable device in some mobile phones that carries a unique ID and stores the consumer’s personal data. The scammer can then use the stolen SIM card in their own mobile device.

In either case, the scammer can gain control over the victim's private texts and calls, and may then try to reset credentials for the victim's financial data and social media accounts.  If successful, the scammer can drain the victim’s bank accounts and sell or ransom their social media data.

Learn more about this scam and how to protect yourself.

eSIM May Decrease SIM Swap Risk

Embedded SIM cards – eSIM cards for short – have replaced traditional SIM cards in newer cell phone models. The eSIM cards are much smaller and hardwired inside the phone, so they’re not removable, eliminating some of the security risk for physical SIM swaps. However, port-out scams remain a security concern.

Also, consumers should always wipe their eSIM data when they replace their phones. Learn more in our eSIM consumer FAQ.

What is cell phone or SIM cloning fraud?

Every cell phone should have a unique factory-set electronic serial number (ESN) and a mobile identification number (MIN).  A cloned cell phone is one that has been reprogrammed to transmit the ESN and MIN belonging to another cell phone.  Scammers can steal ESN/MIN combinations by illegally monitoring the radio wave transmissions from the cell phones of legitimate subscribers.  After cloning, both the legitimate and the fraudulent cell phones have the same ESN/MIN combination and cellular providers cannot distinguish the cloned cell phone from the legitimate one.  Scammers can then run up expensive toll charges and the legitimate phone user gets billed for the cloned phone's calls.  Alert your service provider if you see unauthorized calls or charges on your account.

What is subscriber fraud?

Subscriber fraud occurs when a scammer signs up for cellular service with fraudulently obtained customer information or false identification.  Criminals can obtain your personal information and use it to set up a cell phone account in your name.  It may take time to discover that subscriber fraud has occurred, and even more time to prove that you did not incur the debts.  Millions of dollars are lost each year due to subscriber fraud.

If you think you have been a victim of subscriber fraud:

  • Contact local law enforcement and file a police report.  You can also file an identity theft report with the FTC.
  • Notify your current service provider as well as the service provider for the fraudulent account.
  • Place a fraud alert on any of the three major credit reporting bureaus -- Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion.  The one you notify will share the alert with the other two.

Continue to monitor your credit report at each credit bureau at least once a year.  Consider checking a different credit bureau report every four months for free at annualcreditreport.com.

There’s no need alameda county food bank volunteer write a check or even dial a customer service number.

For one, zoey deutch sex harder for most people to call than to just pay online.

Some people never want to leave the house pay someones boost mobile phone bill.

Our coverage maps provide high level estimates of our coverage areas when using your device outdoors under optimal conditions. Coverage isn't available everywhere. Estimating wireless coverage and signal strength is not an exact science. There are gaps in coverage within our estimated coverage areas that, along with other factors both within and beyond our control (network problems, software, signal strength, your wireless device, structures, buildings, weather, geography, topography, etc.), will result in dropped and blocked connections, slower data speeds, or otherwise impact the quality of services. Services that rely on location information, such as E911 depend on your device's ability to acquire satellite signals (typically not available indoors) and network coverage. E911 services also depend local emergency service provider systems/support. Estimated future coverage subject to change.
