A long drive into and out of this park, through state forest land. We were in Redbud 21, at the end of the loop. The site had a strong slope toward the woods what is the nearest pnc bank we maxed out our Andersen blocks and still could not level, noting this holliday lake state park appomattox virginia carried through the whole site. Also a bit weird with an old timber embedded into the pavement to define the campsite, holliday lake state park appomattox virginia positioned just so trailer tires will roll across it. Utilities were placed way off to the backside of the site, but I was able to connect without extensions for either electric or water, plus the cable/hose were exposed over 20 feet of open pavement. Otherwise a typical VSP experience. 4H gun range is nearby, and shooting is a regular activity, but it seemed to stop everyday at 4:00 and the sound of our Second Amendment being exercised didn't bother us. Site was asphalt, with step down to gravel area with picnic table and fire pit. Dump station was on left of road exiting park, with three dump connections arranged so that one could dump passing through in either direction. Water pressure at the dump seemed really low and took a while to flush the tank. We camped at Holliday Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.
